Data protection declaration

With this data protection declaration, we would like to inform you about the type, scope and purpose of the processing of personal data on our website. Personal data is any data that has a personal reference to you, e.g. name, e-mail address or user behaviour.

Responsible for data processing is:

Provision of the website / log files

Each time our website is accessed, our system automatically collects data and information from the computer system of the accessing computer. This is standard traffic data such as the time of access, the IP address from which the access originated, the name and version of the web browser, as well as certain cookies and other Internet technologies. The data is also stored in the log files of our system. This data is not stored together with other personal data of the user. The temporary storage of the IP address by the system is necessary to enable delivery of the website to the user's computer. For this purpose, the user's IP address must remain stored for the duration of the session. The storage in log files is done to ensure the functionality of the website. In addition, we use the data to optimise the website and to ensure the security of our information technology systems. An evaluation of the data for marketing purposes does not take place in this context. These purposes are also our legitimate interest in data processing according to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f DSGVO in conjunction with Art. 28 DSGVO (order processing agreement).

The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected. In the case of the collection of data for the provision of the website, this is the case when the respective session has ended. In the case of storage of data in log files, this is the case after fourteen days at the latest. Storage beyond this period is possible in exceptional cases. In this case, the IP addresses of the users are deleted or alienated so that an assignment of the calling client is no longer possible. The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of the data in log files is absolutely necessary for the operation of the website. Consequently, there is no possibility for the user to object. This website and its log files are hosted on our behalf exclusively on servers in certified data centres within Europe.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files consisting of a series of numbers and letters that are stored on the terminal device you are using. Cookies neither transmit viruses nor can they execute programs. Rather, their primary purpose is to exchange information between the terminal device you are using and our website in order to make our internet offer more user-friendly for you. Some elements of our website require that the calling browser can be identified even after a page change. In particular, information on language settings may be stored in these cookies. A distinction must be made between temporary (transient) cookies and persistent cookies. Transient cookies include, in particular, session cookies. These store a so-called session ID, with which various requests from your browser can be assigned to the joint session. This enables our website to recognise your computer when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close your browser. Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a set period of time, which may vary depending on the cookie. You have the option to delete these cookies at any time in the security settings of your browser.

Our legitimate interest in data processing lies in the aforementioned purposes. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f DSGVO. Since the cookies are stored on your computer, you as a user also have full control over the use of cookies. You have the option of specifying via the security settings of your browser whether cookies are stored at all. For example, you can choose not to accept cookies from the outset or only accept them on request, or you can specify that cookies are deleted each time you close your browser. If cookies are deactivated for our website, it may no longer be possible to use all the functions of the website to their full extent.

Web fonts (Adobe Fonts / Typekit)

We use "Adobe Fonts" (formerly Typekit), a web font service provided by Adobe Inc., 345 Park Avenue, San Jose, CA 95110-2704, USA ("Adobe"), on our website.

Adobe Fonts allows us to integrate external fonts into the design of our website so that they display correctly and consistently for every visitor, without the fonts having to be installed on your device. When you access a page of our website, your browser establishes a connection to Adobe's servers in order to load the required font files. In the process, Adobe receives and processes your IP address, along with technical information such as the browser used and the time of access. According to Adobe's own information, this data is used solely to deliver the fonts and for statistical purposes, and is stored only for a limited period.

The use of Adobe Fonts serves to present our website consistently and in an appealing manner. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. Since Adobe Inc. is based in the USA, the data described above may be transferred to and processed in a third country. Further information on data processing by Adobe, including the applicable safeguards for international data transfers, can be found in Adobe's privacy policy at: https://www.adobe.com/privacy/policy.html and specifically regarding Adobe Fonts at https://www.adobe.com/privacy/product-privacy/adobe-fonts.html.

Storage period / deletion

We delete or block your personal data as soon as the purpose of storage has been achieved or ceases to apply. Any further storage will only take place if we are required to do so by national or European regulations. In this case, the data will be blocked or deleted when the storage period prescribed by the respective regulations has expired, unless we need your data to fulfil a contract concluded between us or if this is necessary to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.

Your rights as a user of our online presence according to the DSGVO

According to the GDPR, you have the following rights, which you can exercise at any time by contacting the data controller named in section 1 of this privacy policy:

  • Right of access: In accordance with Art. 15 of the GDPR, you can request confirmation as to whether and which of your personal data we process. In addition, you can request information from us free of charge about the processing purposes, the category of personal data, the categories of recipients to whom your data has been or will be disclosed, the planned storage period, the existence of a right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing or objection, the existence of a right of complaint and the origin of your data if it has not been collected by us. Furthermore, you have the right to be informed whether your personal data has been transferred to a third country or to an international organisation. If this is the case, you have the right to obtain information about the appropriate safeguards in connection with the transfer.
  • Right of rectification: Pursuant to Art. 16 of the GDPR, you may request the rectification of inaccurate or incomplete personal data held by us and relating to you.
  • Right to erasure: Pursuant to Art. 17 DSGVO, you have the right to request the erasure of your personal data stored by us, insofar as we do not need to process it for the following purposes:
    • to comply with a legal obligation,
    •  to assert, exercise or defend legal claims,
    •  to exercise the right to freedom of expression and information, or
    •  for reasons of public interest referred to in Art. 17(3)(c) and (d) DSGVO.
  •  Right to restriction: In accordance with Art. 18 DSGVO, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data if
    •  the accuracy of the data is contested by you, for a period of time that allows us to verify the accuracy of the personal data,
    •  the processing of your data is unlawful, but you object to its erasure and request instead the restriction of its use,
    • we no longer need the personal data for the purposes of processing, but you need the data to assert, exercise or defend legal claims
    • you have objected to the processing of your data in accordance with Art. 21 DSGVO, but it has not yet been determined whether the legitimate grounds which entitle us to continue processing despite your objection outweigh your rights.
  •  Right to information: If you have exercised the right to rectification, erasure or restriction of processing against us, we are obliged to inform all recipients to whom the personal data concerning you has been disclosed of the rectification or erasure of the data or the restriction of processing requested by you, unless this proves impossible or involves a disproportionate effort. You have the right to be informed by us about these recipients.
Right to data portability: Pursuant to Art. 20 DSGVO, you may request that we receive the personal data concerning you that you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or that we transfer it to another controller.
  •  Right of complaint: According to Art. 77 DSGVO, you have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. For this purpose, you can contact the supervisory authority of your usual place of residence, your place of work or our registered office

Right of revocation

In accordance with Art. 7 (3) DSGVO, you have the right to revoke your consent to the processing of your data at any time. The revocation declared by you does not change the lawfulness of the processing of your personal data carried out until the revocation.
Right to object

You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data relating to you which is carried out on the basis of a balance of interests (Article 6(1)(f) DSGVO). This is particularly the case if the data processing is not necessary for the performance of a contract. If you exercise your right to object, we ask you to explain the reasons. We will then no longer process your personal data unless we can prove to you that compelling reasons worthy of protection for the data processing outweigh your interests and rights.

Irrespective of the above, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for the purposes of advertising and data analysis. Please address your objection to the contact address of the data controller given above.

Security measures

We also take technical and organisational security measures in accordance with the state of the art in order to comply with the provisions of data protection laws and to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or against unauthorised access by third parties. Based on separate written agreements, we also have personal data processed by service providers within the framework of order processing relationships pursuant to Art. 28 DSGVO. This does not involve the transfer of your personal data to third parties in the sense of data protection law. We remain responsible to you under data protection law. The employees of the processors are obliged to maintain the confidentiality of your data in the same way as our own employees. They are subject to our instructions.
